The Agribusiness and Farm Insurance Specialist
(AFIS®) continuing education program is a convenient way to obtain
state insurance CE credit while gaining meaningful knowledge that will help you
sell, service, or buy insurance for agribusiness and farm exposures.
Insurance CE Credit in All 50 States!
The AFIS program gives insurance agents and brokers a unique opportunity to
simultaneously obtain both mandatory state insurance continuing education (CE)
credit and a certification attesting to their knowledge of the insurance needs
of this important industry.
All five online core AFIS courses and the reaccreditation courses have been
approved for CE credit in all 50 states. Other courses will be filed as they
are introduced. The amount of insurance CE credit provided ranges between 4 and
12 hours, depending on the course and state. To learn how much credit is
available in your state, simply go to the Course Catalog in the AFIS Learning
Center and choose the course(s) you are interested in taking; then select
the state for which you want insurance CE credit. The available credit hours
for that state will be displayed on your screen.
The Conference courses have been filed for approval in most states. The
number of hours approved varies by state. The amount of credit provided ranges
between 6 and 14 hours, depending on the course and the state.
Credit in Other Insurance Industry Programs
Completing AFIS courses (or the entire certification) qualifies for credit
under the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) Continuing
Professional Development (CPD) program, which allows the same number of points
for CPD that have been awarded for CE credits in your state. Simply record the
completed AFIS courses on the CPD qualifier application to receive credit in
that program.
