Impacts of the 2017 Atlantic Hurricane Season and Market Update in Risk Financing

This Risk Financing release's issue of Risk Financing Perspectives offers a discussion on the impacts of the 2017 Atlantic hurricane season along with some guidelines for pursuing storm damage claims. Despite the tens of billions of dollars of insured losses from recent catastrophes, including Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria, no significant, general market adjustments are expected. However, events are still unfolding as damage assessments are completed. Some insureds with substantial facilities in windstorm-prone areas are likely to start seeing efforts by insurers to impose more stringent terms, reduce sublimits, and raise deductibles, especially if they have suffered losses.

Also in this month's Perspectives is our regular "Market Corner" discussion. "Market Corner" provides quarterly updates on current property and casualty insurance market conditions.
