Background
Richard G. ("Dick") Clarke, CIC, CPCU, RPLU, CITRMS, is a veteran
of the property/liability insurance industry, having worked as an underwriter,
consultant, and broker through hard and soft market cycles. He is currently
senior vice president with the regional brokerage, J. Smith Lanier & Co.
headquartered in Georgia.
Mr. Clarke publishes articles, teaches on a variety of management liability
and E&O subjects, functions as an expert witness, and functions as a
consultant to buyers of commercial insurance and to insurance companies
concerning product development. He is also a long-time teacher in CE programs
for several professional insurance organizations. Mr. Clarke’s books are listed
for purchase on Amazon.com, with the most recent, Decoding Executive Liability
Insurance entering its fifth edition in 2012. In 1999, he was an original
recipient of the CPCU Society’s "Distinguished Instructor in
Insurance" award.
Mr. Clarke’s objectives in this webinar are threefold. First, he analyzes
these recent developments and explains why they create the basis for claims
against those who operate employee benefit plans. Next, he examines the extent
to which standard fiduciary liability policies cover (or fail to cover) these
emerging exposures. Last, and most important, he identifies specific
endorsements and extensions for closing the gaps in protection where existing
forms fall short in addressing potential claims.
