Michael Meisten

Mr. Meisten is senior vice president and chief broking officer at American Global. He works with contractor and owner clients on complex insurance matters throughout the United States. Mr. Meisten and his team of experienced brokers focus on the most challenging and complex insurance issues faced by American Global's clients. Go-to-market insurance program placement strategies, their execution, and the design and architecture of highly technical insurance programs are at the core of his responsibilities. His team consists of experts in areas of professional liability, environmental liability, builders risk, and general property and casualty insurance. His focus includes insurance programs for design-build, design-bid-build, progressive design-build, and other alternative project delivery methods. The structuring of insurance program limits, retentions, contractual compliance, and coverage governing terms and conditions are among his specialties, both with respect to traditional insurance programs and alternative insurance programs, including structured risk solutions, owner/contractor consolidated insurance programs, and other multiyear insurance solutions.

Mr. Meisten is also responsible for proactively managing American Global's insurer relationships nationally and internationally. His knowledge of both the construction and insurance industries, and the ethical manner in which he conducts himself in the insurance marketplace, is responsible for his stellar reputation that commands the respect of insurer partners.

Prior to joining American Global, Mr. Meisten enjoyed a near-20-year career with Marsh, where he served as the US Construction Casualty Placement Leader, overseeing a team of highly technical and experienced brokers responsible for the marketing, negotiation, and placement of highly complex primary and excess casualty insurance programs for construction-related clients.
