Julian Ehrlich, JD, writes on additional insured issues for IRMI.com Expert Commentary. He serves as the national leader of Aon's Construction and Infrastructure team of claim consultants. This group advocates for clients on a wide range of claim issues, including accurate reserving, appropriate resolution strategies, an expanded view of coverage, making clients better insureds in the marketplace, and maximizing insurer and third-party administrator services through best practices.

Prior to joining Aon in September 2008, Mr. Ehrlich was the claims counsel for AIG's Construction Risk Division after practicing law in staff counsel and in private practice firms for more than 16 years.

Mr. Ehrlich has written for the New York Law Journal's Outside Counsel and Expert Commentary columns regularly for over 25 years and has authored over 75 articles on insurance, coverage, tort liability trends, and emerging issues in numerous trade, industry, and law journals. He has been quoted in Crain's New York Business, Claims Journal, Engineering News-Record, and Business Insurance.

He has presented at programs for the American Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, IRMI, Defense Research Institute (DRI), Defense Association of New York (DANY), Alpha Construction Conference, New York and California RIMS, and many other bar and trade associations. Mr. Ehrlich has also served as president of DANY from 2010 to 2011, for which he received DRI's Exceptional Performance Citation Award. He has also served on numerous committees at DRI.

Known for his "4Cs" approach to claims management—client service, communication, competency, and compliance—Mr. Ehrlich is also recognized for his unparalleled expertise in scaffold statute litigation, having authored Labor Law § 240 in the New York State Bar Association treatise Construction Site Personal Injury Litigation.

Mr. Ehrlich graduated from Pace University School of Law and is licensed to practice in federal court, New York, and Connecticut.
