Jes Alexander is the author and principal research analyst for several IRMI references, including Insurance Law Essentials, Professional Liability Insurance, D&O MAPS, and Employment Practices Liability Consultant (EPLiC).

Mr. Alexander spent over a decade handling high-stakes insurance coverage matters for insurers and policyholders across the United States. He has experience litigating and providing guidance on virtually all lines of insurance, commercial and personal (i.e., directors and officers liability, errors and omissions, cyber, commercial general liability, homeowners, business auto policy, workers compensation, commercial property, umbrella, banker bonds, and bumbershoot). Mr. Alexander is also an accomplished appellate attorney and has litigated cases before the US Supreme Court, the Texas Supreme Court, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and many intermediate appellate courts.

Additionally, Mr. Alexander has had multiple in-house legal positions as compliance counsel for large insurance companies. These roles focused on claims, underwriting, and products. Most recently, he was product counsel for the technology company Indeed, ensuring global compliance for new technology products. Further, he served as deputy general counsel for the world's largest barbecue restaurant chain, where he served as the risk manager for the company relating to cyber, directors and officers, employment, workers compensation, and general liability issues.

Mr. Alexander is the elected technology officer for the State Bar of Texas Insurance Law Section and is a frequent speaker at insurance law seminars.

Mr. Alexander received a bachelor of arts degree in political science with a concentration in international relations from Tulane University. He received his juris doctor degree from Boston University School of Law, where he served as articles editor for the International Law Journal.
