Jamie Carsey

Jamie Carsey is the chief claims officer for US and Bermuda claims at Markel. In this role, Ms. Carsey focuses on enhancing the department's claims handling processes and outcomes. She joined Markel in 2017, holding various positions within the company, and most recently was senior managing director, Claims-Legal and Head of Litigation. She has served on the Claims Leadership Steering Committee and led in-house counsel and claims compliance teams. Prior to joining Markel, she was a partner at a Texas-based insurance firm, Thompson Coe, where she managed large litigation teams handling complex cases nationwide. In addition to her claims leadership responsibilities, Ms. Carsey has served on Markel's Global D&I Steering Committee and the Talent Advisory Council. She is also involved in a variety of activities outside Markel in the areas of thought leadership, education, and community support, including serving on the Houston board for the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation and the Board of Directors for the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association. She holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Texas and a law degree from the University of Houston Law Center. Ms. Carsey is based in Houston.
