François Wasselin

Mr. Wasselin is a senior vice president and the head of infrastructure at American Global, where he leads the firm's Infrastructure Solutions practice, a multidisciplinary team of engineers and attorneys specializing in complex construction and infrastructure projects. His team focuses on evaluating technical and contractual project risks, laying the foundation for tailored insurance and surety solutions aligned with each project's technical challenges and commercial framework. The Infrastructure Solutions team also spearheads new initiatives aimed at expanding American Global's knowledge base and evaluating innovative risk transfer products, further solidifying the firm's position as a thought leader in the construction and infrastructure industry.

Mr. Wasselin works closely with owners, developers, and contractors to assess contractual exposures, develop risk management strategies, and structure insurance programs for large-scale infrastructure projects. Trained as a civil engineer and having spent a decade working for an infrastructure developer and investor, he brings an in-depth understanding of alternative delivery models and infrastructure transactions, from the technical fundamentals of project execution to high-level commercial negotiations and risk transfer strategies.

He is widely recognized for his unique ability to bridge the gap between engineering, project delivery method, and insurance. His work helps clients navigate the evolving challenges of large-scale projects while developing insurance programs that respond to project-specific needs and achieve superior outcomes in the global insurance marketplace.

Prior to joining American Global, Mr. Wasselin served as senior vice president of project development at one of the world's largest infrastructure and construction companies. In that role, he led the development and management of their US P3 pursuits, overseeing commercial negotiations, procurement strategies, and risk allocation discussions among public agencies, contractors, investors, and lenders.

Mr. Wasselin has nearly 20 years of experience across infrastructure development, investment, construction, and risk advisory. He is a published thought leader and frequent speaker at industry conferences focused on infrastructure delivery, construction risk management, and insurance. He holds a master's degree in civil engineering from École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées (Paris, France) and a master's degree in mechanics from École Polytechnique (Paris, France).
