Bill Kost is the energy and power advisory leader in Marsh's US Energy and Power Practice, residing in Houston, Texas, where he is responsible for integrating, coordinating, and growing Marsh's advisory capabilities across brokerage and consulting, mostly focusing on midstream, downstream, refining, chemical, petrochemical, mining, power generation, renewable energy, and energy infrastructure clients. He also oversees complex insurance claims advocacy as a national resource for energy, power, and renewables clients. He is also a subject matter expert and placement resource for specialty insurance products such as parametric solutions, outage insurance, weather insurance, system performance, and warranty insurance. Mr. Kost strategically leverages Marsh's 150-plus advisory services to improve a client's knowledge and control of risk, thereby substantially creating and delivering enhanced value beyond traditional risk engineering and claims offerings available from insurers.

Prior to joining Marsh in 2022, Mr. Kost maintained various roles related to insurance underwriting, broking, and risk management consulting. He has more than 20 years of experience supporting the global energy, private equity, and infrastructure sectors in various roles throughout the insurance value chain, including underwriting, retail, wholesale, and reinsurance broking, risk management, and due diligence consulting. He successfully provides holistic, critical thinking to developing and delivering enterprise risk solutions to clients.

Mr. Kost attained a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering from the University of Missouri, Columbia, and a master's degree in environmental science and management from the University of California, Santa Barbara. In addition, he is an Associate in Enterprise Risk Management, a licensed broker in all 50 states of the US, and an Engineer in Training—Chemical Engineer in California.
