Beth E. Young, JD

Ms. Young writes on workers compensation issues for IRMI.com Expert Commentary. As a workers compensation claims director for Aon Global Risk Consulting's Construction & Infrastructure Group, she is responsible for coordinating workers compensation claims services for Aon's construction clients in all US jurisdictions. She supports Aon's clients, working collaboratively with account teams and brokers to establish and implement service plans tailored to client needs and expectations.

Prior to joining Aon, Ms. Young litigated cases before the Illinois Workers' Compensation Commission for just under 20 years, working at both private firms and in-house for Travelers Insurance. While her work involved claims that spanned industries, a large percentage of her work involved construction and contractor clients. She not only has an in-depth understanding of workers compensation claim practice, both within the context of an insurer and/or third-party administrator, but also has a deep understanding of how the prevailing workers compensation law can affect the true cost of a workers compensation claim.

As a former litigator, Ms. Young's expertise lies in creative problem-solving and client advocacy. She focuses on client experience and achieving the best result possible, even when the best result is not easily obtained.

Ms. Young earned her juris doctorate from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law. Previously, she obtained a bachelor of arts degree with an emphasis on political science and economics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
