Minnesota Court Ruling About Lasalocid Discussed in Pollution Coverage Issues

This Pollution Coverage Issues release adds seven new cases to various sections of this reference. PDFs of these cases have been added to the Caselaw Library, which now contains 5,427 PDFs of cases. Cases dealing with lead, lasalocid, manure, and storm water have been added to the list of substances courts have considered whether or not to be "pollutants." In this edition of IRMI's Environmental Insurance Reporter, Research Analyst Lisa Smuckler, J.D., ERIS, CRIS, discusses Restaurant Recycling, LLC v. New Fashion Pork, LLP, 2017 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 109755 (D. Minn. Jul. 14, 2017), a case in which the absolute pollution exclusion barred coverage for a claim involving a contaminated fat product used in swine feed.
