Press Release

IRMI’s Only Agribusiness Conference This Year Will Be Virtual

Dallas, TX, February 18, 2021International Risk Management Institute, Inc. (IRMI), has opened registration for the 2021 IRMI Emmett J Vaughan Agribusiness Conference (AgriCon). The Conference will be presented as a virtual event, held online May 17–19, and the only IRMI AgriCon held this year.

"Lower expected government farm payments will significantly reduce farm sector profits in 2021," said IRMI President and CEO Jack P. Gibson. "This makes insurance cost-control very important, while the hard insurance market will make it difficult to achieve. We will equip attendees at AgriCon with the information and tactics they need to be successful despite the challenges."

Attendees will have access to 2 days of sessions focused exclusively on the unique risk management challenges faced by agribusinesses and farms and the nuances of properly insuring those exposures. Topics covered include crop insurance, livestock coverage issues, transportation exposures, and climate change. Those pursuing their Agribusiness and Farm Insurance Specialist (AFIS®) designation can attend free post-Conference AFIS exam prep courses. In addition, insurance and risk management professionals who hold the AFIS certification can fulfill their continuing education requirement by attending the Conference.

The online event offers attendees the opportunity to safely learn and network and access on-demand session recordings for up to 6 months following the Conference.
