Emmett J Vaughan Agribusiness Conference Attracts More Than 150 Risk and Insurance Professionals

Release Date: Sep 9, 2014

Over 150 insurance agents, brokers, underwriters, and insurance buyers who specialize in managing or insuring farm and agribusiness risks convened in Richmond, Virginia, September 8–9, 2014, for the Emmett J Vaughan Agribusiness Conference.

Virtually all the major providers of insurance services were represented at this premier event for the farm and agribusiness industries.

“The conference brought together attendees from all segments of the farm and agribusiness insurance and risk management industry,” said IRMI Director of Training and Education Millie Workman. “They not only gained the knowledge needed to identify, manage, and insure the risks faced by farms and agribusinesses but also had opportunities to network with their peers and share valuable insights into best practices.”

All of the Conference classes lead to obtaining and maintaining the Agribusiness and Farm Insurance Specialist (AFIS™) certification, the foremost continuing education program for specialists in the agricultural and farm insurance industry. IRMI acquired the AFIS program from the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of California (IIABCal) in August 2013.

Richmond was the host for the third 2014 Conference in this series, with the last 2014 Conference scheduled for Des Moines, Iowa, on October 6–7.
