Dallas, TX, August 30, 2012—International
Risk Management Institute, Inc. (IRMI®), and WebCE®, Inc. are pleased to
announce that the Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS®) program
now offers continuing professional education (CPE) credit for certified
public accountants (CPAs) in most states.
"The CRIS program has been very popular with chief financial officers and
controllers who have the responsibility of purchasing insurance for their
construction company employers," said IRMI President and CEO Jack P. Gibson,
CPCU, CRIS, ARM. "Since many of them are CPAs, the ability to satisfy their
CPE requirements will make it even more appealing to them."
More than 5,600 people now hold the CRIS certification, and another 1,500
are working toward it. The CRIS courses are available online and satisfy
state-mandated insurance CE requirements as well as accounting CPE
requirements.
The program also helps contractors identify insurance agents and brokers
who focus on the construction industry and who are qualified to write their
insurance by seeking insurance representatives who have obtained the CRIS
certification. To facilitate this process, CRIS-certified agents and brokers
are listed in an online
insurance agent and broker directory that contractors may consult at no
cost.
For more information or to consult the free directory of CRIS-certified
insurance agents and brokers, visit the CRIS website at
www.CRIS-CE.com.
WebCE, Inc., is
registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy
(NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National
Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have final authority
on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. Complaints regarding
registered sponsors may be submitted to the National Registry of CPE
