Job Safety Analysis (JSA)

Definition

Involves a detailed analysis of all the steps integral to a particular task. This process includes listing and categorizing all the hazards to persons and property that might impact each step and detailing all reasonable mechanical, procedural, and managerial safeguards against each hazard. The main goal is to make each task and the overall process subject to appropriate risk control techniques, leading to greater workplace safety.
