Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR) — a compendium of rules and regulations of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety
Administration (FMCSA), an agency within the U.S. Department of Transportation,
that apply to the motor carrier industry, including private and exempt motor
carriers. The regulations relate to such diverse areas as requirements for
registration (as a motor carrier, broker, or freight forwarder), safety,
financial responsibility, driver qualification, hours-of-service, and
maintenance of vehicles.
