Patrick McGuigan, CLU, CPCU, ChFC

Dr. Patrick McGuigan writes on leadership issues for IRMI.com.

Dr. McGuigan is a clinical professor of management at Pace University and has 20 years of progressive insurance industry experience. He is an experienced agent, agency owner, consultant, author, speaker, and corporate staff with both property and casualty (P&C) and life and health (L&H) companies. He currently serves as editor of several industry newsletters and is director of the Healthcare Management Program at Pace. He has published in the Journal of SFSP, CPCU eJournal, Advisor Today, Journal of the ADA, Contingencies, FPA Journal, and others.

Dr. McGuigan received his bachelor of science degree in economics and political science from Sacred Heart University, master of arts degree in applied psychology from Fairfield University, and a doctor of professional studies degree in management (AACSB accredited program) from Pace University. In addition, he holds several professional designations, including Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), and Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI). He remains active in many industry professional organizations.
