Michael M. Kaddatz


Mr. Kaddatz is the author of "Contractual Risk Transfer as a Risk Management Technique," "Administration by Risk Transferors," and "Administration by Transferees." He is a managing director with ARM Tech, a division of Aon Risk Consultants, located in Lake Forest, California. The firm specializes in providing independent risk management, actuarial, and insurance consulting advice to business and government. Mr. Kaddatz has viewed contractual risk transfer issues from several vantage points during his insurance and risk management career, which began in 1972. As a casualty underwriter for Employers Insurance of Wausau, he reviewed requests for certificates, additional insured endorsements, and related matters. As a risk analyst for Southern California Edison, Mr. Kaddatz helped craft contractual insurance language and compliance monitoring procedures for major contracts. As a consultant, he has assisted clients with contractual risk transfer issues, including the drafting of custom contract verbiage, certificates, endorsements, and related procedures. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin—Stevens Point, Mr. Kaddatz has served as governing chair of the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter Society's Risk Management Section and president of the Society of Risk Management Consultants. He is a frequent speaker and author on a wide variety of risk management topics.
