The Toxic Substances Control Act of 1976 [15 U.S.C. §2601 et seq.] was enacted by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to regulate the importation, production, use in commerce, and disposal of specified chemicals with the intent to ensure the safe use of such chemicals within American workplaces and in commerce.
