Executives and board members of industrial organizations are watching the rise of cyber attacks by state actors, hacktivists, and criminal groups and asking the question, "is our company safe from cyber threats to operational technology (OT)?"
Organizations have traditionally used metrics produced by IT cybersecurity tools, as well as the size of their cybersecurity budget allocations, to validate the company’s investment in securing systems. Unfortunately, this approach gives a false sense of security when there’s actually a large gap in the organization’s security strategy: the operational technology (OT) that runs the revenue-producing side of the business remains exposed because IT cybersecurity can’t adequately protect it.
Executives and Board members can make more informed decisions and better hold their teams accountable by understanding the difference between IT and Operational Technology (OT) and the cybersecurity controls that are effective in these very different environments. Robert M. Lee, CEO and Co-Founder of Dragos, will discuss the challenges of protecting OT environments, the nature of evolving cyber threats, and how the c-suite, general managers, and risk managers can better protect their business.
