Executives and board members of industrial organizations are watching the rise of cyber attacks by state actors, hacktivists, and criminal groups and asking the question, "is our company safe from cyber threats to operational technology (OT)?"
Organizations have traditionally used metrics produced by IT cybersecurity tools, as well as the size of their cybersecurity budget allocations, to validate the company’s investment in securing systems. Unfortunately, this approach gives a false sense of security when there’s actually a large gap in the organization’s security strategy: the operational technology (OT) that runs the revenue-producing side of the business remains exposed because IT cybersecurity can’t adequately protect it.
Executives and Board members can make more informed decisions and better hold their teams accountable by understanding the difference between IT and Operational Technology (OT) and the cybersecurity controls that are effective in these very different environments. Robert Lee
CEO and Founder
Robert M. Lee is the CEO and co-founder of Dragos, a global leader in industrial cybersecurity. A recognized authority in the field, Robert has advised national leaders and testified before U.S. Congress on critical infrastructure cyber threats. He is a member of the World Economic Forum’s subcommittees on Cyber Resilience and serves on the boards of the International Society of Automation and the National Cryptologic Foundation. Robert's pioneering work began as a U.S. Air Force Cyber Warfare Operations Officer at the NSA. He developed the first dedicated ICS/OT cybersecurity courses at the SANS Institute and is a SANS Fellow. Named SC Media's Security Executive of the Year for 2022, Robert has led investigations into major cyberattacks, including the 2015 and 2016 attacks on Ukraine's power grid, the 2017 TRISIS attack, and the 2021 Colonial Pipeline ransomware attack. His team at Dragos uncovered the PIPEDREAM framework in 2022. Robert's work has been featured in the book Sandworm and on 60 Minutes.

Yes, your membership is separate from any subscription you have to access paid IRMI content, whether you have an individual subscription, a subscription to IRMI Online purchased by your employer, or a subscription to IRMI paid content on another platform (e.g., Vertafore ReferenceConnect or Zywave).
No, you can use your existing username and password to log in to IRMI Online and access both your subscription content and free member content.
You must activate a free IRMI Membership to access free content that is exclusively for members: IRMI webinars, newsletters, and white papers.
At this time, our free Expert Commentary articles and Glossary are still available to non-members.
When you log in to IRMI Online, you will be asked to activate your free membership. You will access your subscription content the same way you did before. Free content that used to appear under "Bonus Content" in the navigation pane will now be available to you under "My Membership."
Yes, if you want to access IRMI webinars, newsletters, and other member content, you will need to activate a free IRMI Membership.
You will continue to access your subscription content the same way you have before (i.e., on the Vertafore ReferenceConnect or Zywave website).
Yes, you can opt out of having a free IRMI Membership. However, if your membership is not active, you will not be able to receive IRMI newsletters, attend webinars, or access any other member content.

No, your free IRMI Membership does not have an expiration date. Your membership belongs to you and will remain active even if you change employers.
Your free IRMI Membership does not include a subscription to IRMI paid content.
However, IRMI members will have periodic complimentary access to select IRMI Online subscription content for a limited time. You will be notified via your member newsletter, IRMI Update. If you want to maintain your access to paid content beyond the complimentary period, you will need to purchase a subscription.
While we have always strived to treat our subscribers, conference attendees, and certification holders like members, we’ve never had a formal membership program before.
If you subscribed to an IRMI newsletter before we launched our membership program, you will remain on that subscriber list.
However, if at any time you unsubscribe, you will need to become a free member to resubscribe.
All new newsletter subscribers are required to become a member.
