Associate in Research and Planning (ARP) is a professional designation awarded by The Institutes upon successful completion of six national exams, two of which are designed specifically for this program and four of which are Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) exams.

Associate in Risk Management (ARM) is a designation conferred upon individuals who successfully complete three written comprehensive examinations covering all aspects of risk management.

Associate in Surplus Lines Insurance (ASLI) is a professional designation awarded by The Institutes upon successful completion of two national exams.

Associational discrimination is workplace discrimination based on an employee's "association" with another individual who comes within a protected classification (e.g., sex, race, religion) or who has engaged in protected activity (e.g., whistleblowing).

An association captive is a captive insurance company that has as its primary purpose the insurance of the risks of the members of an association that either sponsors or owns the captive.
