Thomas Morelli, CRIS, ERIS

Mr. Morelli is responsible for management of all underwriting operations for energy industries, exploration and production (upstream, midstream, and downstream), petrochemicals, mining, renewables, utilities, and energy contracting. During his 28-year career, he has created numerous tailored risk management and managing general agent programs to satisfy the needs of his clients and the energy industries. He has broad knowledge and experience in energy, transportation, risk management, captives, and London markets.

Prior to joining Everest Insurance, Mr. Morelli was chief underwriting officer for Global Special Risks (GSR), a wholly owned subsidiary of Ryan Specialty Group specializing in upstream energy exposures. Before joining GSR, he was president of energy casualty for AIG, where he was responsible for a $1 billion book of casualty business across North America. The portfolio spanned 10 offices and more than 150 employees dedicated to the needs of the energy industry.
