Background
A member of the CGL Reporter Editorial Board from
2002 to 2007, Mr. Weil provided his expertise in the environmental arena.
Mr. Weil joined Dickstein Shapiro in 1996 and was counsel with the Firm. He
focused his practice on representing policyholders in insurance coverage
disputes and other commercial litigation in state and federal courts
nationwide, and on counseling clients in insurance coverage and government
contracts cases. He represented policyholders in connection with coverage
claims related to environmental liabilities, product liabilities, loan frauds,
securities claims against officers and directors, and property damage resulting
from the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Mr. Weil also devoted
substantial time to the director and officer coverage issues that have arisen
as a result of securities claims associated with market volatility.
Mr. Weil received his bachelor of arts degree from Grinnell College and his
juris doctor degree from the University of Chicago, where he won the Karl
Llewellyn Moot Court Cup and served as an associate editor on the
University of Chicago Law Review.
