Background
Scott Irwin has been involved with administering captives since 1991 for
various energy companies. These companies have been domiciled in Bermuda,
Oklahoma, Vermont, Cayman Islands, and now Texas.
Mr. Irwin now administers the three Phillips 66 captive insurance companies,
Spirit Insurance Company (Vermont captive with A.M. Best rating A, Size VIII),
Radius Insurance Company (Cayman Island, A.M. Best rating A, Size VIII), and
SHC Insurance Company (Texas captive, non- rated, capitalization of $100
million), as well as supplying support for all aspects of the Phillips 66
corporate insurance program. He also has served on the Board of the Texas
Captive Insurance Association since 2015.
Mr. Irwin graduated from the University of Missouri. He was a licensed
claims adjuster in Oklahoma from 1978 to 2002 and achieved his Associate in
Risk Management in 1993. He lives in Houston, Texas, with his wife of 21 years
and their 3 children.
