Kevin T. Merriman is a partner with Ward Greenberg Heller & Reidy LLP
in Rochester, New York, where he counsels insurance companies on a broad
range of commercial and personal lines issues, including auto, homeowners,
commercial general liability, commercial property, law enforcement, public
officials, employment practices liability, and workers compensation. Mr.
Merriman also represents insurers in declaratory judgment and
extra-contractual liability matters throughout the state of New York. His
practice includes the defense of toxic tort claims, and the representation of
litigants and insurers in mass tort, multi-district, and class action
litigation.
Mr. Merriman lectures and writes extensively on insurance law issues. He
is a member of the Defense Research Institute, where he is active in the
Insurance Law Committee and contributes regularly to its publications. He is
also a member of the New York State Bar Association’s Torts, Insurance and
Compensation Law Section, which presented him the Young Lawyer’s Award for
outstanding contribution to the practice of insurance law in January 2002.
Mr. Merriman is also an active member in the American Inns of Court, and
serves several philanthropic and community service organizations.
Mr. Merriman received his JD degree from the State University of New York
at Buffalo in 1992, and his BS degree from Cornell University in 1989. He is
admitted to practice in New York, and in Federal District Court for the
Western and Northern Districts of New York.
