Background
Mr. Karpowitz owned and published the CGL Reporter from 1983 to 1985. He was
employed by the Defense Research Institute until 1980, and was the primary
editor of all its insurance-related publications, including the predecessor to
the CGL Reporter.
Born in 1939, Mr. Karpowitz went to Williams for college, and Marquette
University for law school. He also clerked for Chief Justice Beilfuss. He was
admitted to the Wisconsin bar on June 1, 1968.
He died on May 31, 1985, and was survived by his wife Sarah (nee Enos), son
James, and daughter Jennifer.
