Michael Keating


Mr. Keating is a nationally known business continuity and enterprise risk expert. Previously, he served as a director responsible for leading the business continuity management practice for Navigant Consulting, Inc. He has assisted clients of nearly every size and industry type prepare to minimize the impact of business interruptions, corporate crises, and pandemic risks. Prior to joining Navigant Consulting, Mr. Keating held various leadership positions in the crisis management and business continuity consulting arena, including with Protiviti, Marsh Risk Consulting, and IBM. He also developed the American Red Cross Business and Industry Council for Emergency Planning and Preparedness program, the first program of its kind to help organizations prepare for disasters. He has served as the only business continuity management (BCM) expert witness in the field's most significant antitrust case, assisting the federal 9/11 Commission in the development of incentives for private sector preparedness, serving as the coauthor and primary facilitator of the RIMS (the risk management society) Fellow 2-day course on BCM, developing and deploying a BCM tool kit for a $25 billion enterprise operating in 50 countries, and coauthoring the Institute for Internal Auditors Guide to Business Continuity Management.
