This release of Commercial Auto Insurance includes a new discussion on "Transportation Network Companies (TNCs)" (e.g., Uber or Lyft) that presents information about this innovative and disruptive technology developing in the transportation sector. In addition to expanding the "Auto ID Insurance Cards Requirements" overview discussion, the Auto—Proof of Coverage Information for April 2017 includes changes affecting auto ID card information requirements in the following states.

  • Hawaii (HI)—Revised wording in "Special Requirements" section to reflect the acceptance of ID cards displayed on an electronic device.
  • Nebraska (NE)—Added wording "Certificate of Insurance must be original document issued by an insurance company authorized to do business in Nebraska. Photocopies are not acceptable."
  • Nevada (NV)—Revised general wording in "Special Requirements" section.
  • Texas (TX)—Added policy number, effective and expiration dates, year, make, and model of covered vehicles.
