Mr. Omilian writes the "case of the month" for IRMI's Personal Lines Pilot newsletter. He received a bachelor of science degree from Cornell University, majoring in natural resources. He then worked in an industrial wastewater treatment facility in Niagara Falls and a Cornell fisheries research program in the Adirondack Mountains of New York before pursuing his legal education. Mr. Omilian earned joint degrees, juris doctor and master of science in environmental science, while graduating cum laude from Indiana University, Bloomington. After earning his law degree, he practiced with an Indiana firm for 7 years before joining Goldberg Segalla.

Mr. Omilian has defended a variety of environmental and toxic tort claims in state and federal courts, including asbestos exposure, agricultural operations, industrial-solvent contamination of groundwater, and Superfund contribution actions, as well as defending construction professionals from construction and design defect suits. He also provides insurance coverage counsel relating to construction defects, pollutants, and similar issues. He is a member of the DRI Insurance Committee and a former chairperson of the Defense Trial Counsel of Indiana Construction Committee.
