Mr. Dunlap joined the CGL Reporter Editorial
Board in 2014, focusing on bad faith, excess, and construction cases.
Mr. Dunlap has concentrated on coverage and bad faith litigation for over
30 years. He has extensive experience representing insurers and policyholders
in complex coverage disputes involving construction defect, asbestos,
environmental, intellectual property, and miscellaneous general liability
issues in federal and state courts. He also regularly provides pre-litigation
advice to insurers on coverage and claim handling issues. Throughout his
career, he has represented and counseled insurers in bad faith and
extracontractual disputes. He also has significant experience representing
insurers in mass tort bankruptcy cases, including Chapter 11 plan
negotiations and future claim trusts. He has lectured and written on
insurance topics and most recently was a contributing author to
"Reasonable Expectations - Interpreting Insurance Policies in Common Law
Jurisdictions," American Bar Association, Tort and Insurance Practice
Section (2016).
Mr. Dunlap received his bachelor of arts degree from the University of
Florida and his law degree from Stetson University College of Law.
