ORLANDO—Mark Spansel, Partner,
Adams & Reese law firm in New Orleans, was honored with IRMI’s Words
of Wisdom Award here during the 27th IRMI Construction Risk
Conference. The Words of Wisdom, or "WOW,” Award recognizes a
speaker who has made an outstanding contribution to the construction
and insurance industries by unselfishly sharing his or her risk and
insurance expertise with exceptional delivery skills at the annual
Conference hosted by International Risk Management Institute, Inc.
(IRMI).
The award was presented to Mr. Spansel before an audience of
almost 1,700. IRMI President Jack Gibson explained why Mr. Spansel
was chosen to receive the prestigious award.
"Mark has presented at
the IRMI Conference many times over the past 20 years, usually on
the subject of maritime law and its application to the construction
industry. His evaluations have consistently ranked among the top 5
percent of speakers, which is quite an accomplishment since we have
60 or more speakers on the program each year. And last year he took
the honor of highest-rated speaker,” Mr. Gibson said. "Frankly, this
recognition is probably overdue.”
Mr. Spansel is the eighteenth
winner of the WOW Award. Previous recipients include John Alberici,
Alberici Group; Tim Carter, CB Richard Ellis; Jim Costner, Willis;
Steve Davis, McGriff Seibels & Williams; Diana Eichfeld, ACE USA;

McCarley, J. Smith Lanier; Mike O’Neill, American Contractors
