IRMI Hosts First In-person Transportation Risk Conference
Release Date:
Dallas, TX—In 2021, International Risk Management
Institute, Inc. (IRMI), hosted a successful virtual IRMI Transportation Risk
Conference (TRC) with nearly 200 attendees. This year, the event will be an
in-person Conference held on September 19–21 in Des Moines, Iowa, providing
attendees with the opportunity to network with industry thought leaders, expert
speakers, and their colleagues.
The expansion of the Conference is part of IRMI’s continued commitment to
helping risk and insurance professionals mitigate and cover the complex
exposures associated with transportation and logistics.
Session topics include supply chain challenges, cargo theft methods and
trends, the gig economy, and using telematics to modify behavior, as well as
the latest developments in MCS-90 case law.
Attendees will also hear from our keynote speaker—Mike Steenhoek, executive
director of Soy Transportation Coalition—who will share his views on the
condition of our transportation infrastructure and focus on current challenges
and opportunities confronting our nation’s multimodal transportation
system.
“Auto liability awards—and insurance premiums—have been spiraling out of
sight in the past few years, and managing the risk has become essential,” said
Jack Gibson, IRMI president and CEO. “This makes the topics to be covered at
IRMI TRC very relevant to companies not only in the transportation industry but
also construction, energy, agribusiness, and many others.”
The cost of registration includes a free pre-Conference course: Essentials
of Regulations, Statutes, and Motor Carrier Liability Coverage. The session is
ideal for anyone who wants to take a deep dive into the business auto and motor
carrier coverage forms, common endorsements, and the effect of key motor
vehicle statutes. The course is also one of the five required to earn the
prestigious Transportation Risk and Insurance Professional (TRIP®)
certification.
Don’t wait until the last minute—the early bird rate is only available until
July 14 and saves you $100 off your registration fee.
