Jack Gibson, IRMI’s president and CEO, commented, “IRMI would like to express our heartfelt thoughts and prayers for those affected by this devastating storm. In the days ahead, our industry will be called upon to serve the million or more people affected by the winds and waters. We know you will be working hard to process claims quickly and effectively to meet the needs of our fellow citizens as they return to their homes.”

Those in impacted areas can access three key IRMI referencesPersonal Risk Management and Insurance, Commercial Property Insurance, and Commercial Auto Insurance - along with other flood resources, at no charge until November 30, 2018

IRMI will hold a free informational webinar on September 25  at 11 a.m. (EDT) to instruct users on how to navigate the resources and answer related questions. Topics covered will include water damage/water exclusions under commercial property and homeowners, duties after a loss, and difference-in-conditions coverage.

Additionally, IRMI's guide titled “Hurricane Florence: 12 Things You Need To Know Now about Your Insurance” is a consumer-friendly piece to help insurance professionals get the word out quickly to their clients. We encourage agencies to use the information on their own websites.

These links have been posted to IRMI's social media channels and can be shared and distributed freely. IRMI's founder and chairman, Bill McIntyre, has stated that he would "like to spread the word far and wide to help the largest number of people."

"We know that this tragedy will affect our industry and the citizens of North Carolina and South Carolina and the surrounding regions for months to come, and we stand ready to help as the claims paperwork begins", concluded Gibson.
