2015 Gary E. Bird Horizon Award Bestowed Upon Jayme Mayo

Las Vegas, NV—The Gary E. Bird Horizon Award was presented at the 35th IRMI Construction Risk Conference to Jayme Mayo, Physician Assistant/Wellness Director, Nabholz Construction Corporation. This award recognized Ms. Mayo for her innovative loss control program.

Ms. Mayo created and implemented the award-winning “Building a Healthy Workplace”, an innovative wellness program that was multidisciplinary and utilized an incentivized approach.

The Gary E. Bird Horizon Award, sponsored by Travelers, is presented annually by IRMI to recognize a demonstrated commitment to improving construction risk management through the implementation of innovative, cost-effective, and efficient risk management techniques.

"Ms. Mayo's approach to a wellness program was very innovative," said Jennifer Lee, Vice President of Construction at Travelers. "Putting a new, successful spin on something many companies have tried to implement made her a stand-out in the field this year." 

The other finalists for the award were John Tindall, Regional Safety Director for Brasfield & Gorrie, LLC; and Brad Condray, Vice President of Operations, and Patrick Lloyd, Chief Financial Officer, of Golden Construction, LLC.
