Personal Lines Insurance Coverage Gaps: Analysis and Resolution

This one hour webinar is focused on uncovering some of the more common coverage gaps in personal lines insurance programs, gaps that can cause consumers undue financial burdens, ultimately harm the reputation of the insurance company and the entire industry, and even lead to E&O claims against agents/brokers.

Examples of potential gaps include the usage of trusts, inadequate dwelling limits, sewer back-up losses, inadequate condominium coverage, uninsured home-based business loss exposures, and uninsured home contractor injuries.

Webinar-At-A-Glance

Forward-thinking agents and insurers can take proactive steps to resolve some of these coverage gaps through premium-bearing endorsements, risk avoidance tips, contractual risk transfer tips, and risk control tips. Independent agents need to evolve from simply selling personal lines insurance into risk managers, particularly for their more affluent customers with myriad and complex loss exposures.

Insurers can also become champions in this endeavor and gain a reputation (among the insurance agency and consumer community) of being problem solvers not only through the sale of broader policies and additional endorsements but also through timely advice to their agency force on a host of risk management techniques.

Thus, this presentation will look at a variety of pertinent personal lines insurance coverage gaps and explore ideas to resolve the gaps. The webinar will conclude with a focus on properly coordinating a client’s entire P&C portfolio.
