Webinar-at-a-Glance
Directors and officers liability coverage is arguably the most complex and
challenging line of P&C insurance. Coverage disputes between insureds and
insurers are, regrettably, all-too-common. Moreover, surveys consistently
indicate that for one reason or another, insured organizations typically receive
far less than total indemnification when they sustain D&O losses. For larger
firms, the challenge of structuring D&O protection is especially involved,
given the need to consider both a broad array of Side-A options, coupled with the
intricacies of crafting an effective excess D&O program.
This webinar will help you successfully navigate these complexities. Its goals
are twofold. First, it explains several kinds of coverage traps, gaps, and
pitfalls that are the frequent subject of coverage disputes, denials, and
less-than-complete insurer reimbursement. Second, it explains how to avoid those
problems and devise the broadest, most cost-effective D&O program possible.
Presenter Bob Bregman, CPCU, RPLU, MLIS has been analyzing D&O policy
forms for 30 years—including nearly a decade as editor of D&O MAPS (an IRMI
publication that analyzes 250+ D&O forms). He is the author of the
Management Liability Insurance Specialist (MLIS) certification program and the
principal author of
Professional Liability Insurance, a 2,000 page
treatise on D&O, EPL, medical, and non-medical professional liability exposures
and coverage.
Presenter Rich Scislowski, JD, CPCU, CIC, CRIS, MLIS combines exceptional
practical experience with outstanding academic credentials. Since joining IRMI
in 2005, he has developed the D&O Policy Explorer, a unique software tool
providing
"touch of the button," side-by-side comparisons of the leading policy
forms in the current D&O marketplace. Prior to that, he spent a decade as an
insurance and business attorney with two Cleveland-area law firms where he
litigated numerous coverage disputes.
