Webinar-at-a-Glance

Green construction projects are now a reality that must be faced by owners, developers, designers, and contractors, as well as those who manage their risks and place their insurance. Indeed, the trend may accelerate due to federal, state, and local requirements to build green and green incentives included in the economic stimulus package introduced by President Obama's administration.

Despite the widespread focus on the advantages of building green, there has been relatively little attention given to risks associated with these projects. Green design and construction, while relatively new, need not be feared or avoided. Like any other construction risks, it needs to be understood and managed.

This session will help demystify the risks emanating from green construction and offer several risk management solutions. The session is designed for anyone involved in the green-built industry: design firms, contractors, owners, developers, and others.

Who Should Consider Purchasing

This webinar is designed for P&C agents and brokers, P&C underwriters, and those charged with managing construction risks or purchasing insurance for construction projects (e.g., risk managers and financial managers). It will also be informative for consultants, surety agents and brokers, surety underwriters, and attorneys who wish to improve their knowledge of construction insurance.

Benefits to Your Participation

Attendees will gain a better understanding of:

  • The LEED rating system and how LEED 3.0 differs from previous versions. Other rating systems will also be referenced.

  • Ten significant green building risk categories—identified by construction industry peers, not brokers, consultants, or lawyers.

  • Potential risk management solutions for the ten identified categories.
