In response to requests from subscribers, we are now making an Adobe Acrobat
version (PDF file) of the current issue of each of our newsletters available
each month. This will allow you to quickly and easily print an attractive copy
to toss in your briefcase and read at your leisure.
The May
issue of The Risk Report, examines
D&O litigation and coverage trends. Litigation frequency and severity are discussed,
as well as stock options backdating, Side A-only policies, nonrescindable policies,
and developments in forms and coveraages.
The May
issue of Captive Insurance Company Reports
(CICR) contains the annual statistics on captive growth, which remains
tepid. A softening market can seriously threaten a group captive's existence.
CICR provides factors for long-term success.
The spring issue of Employment Practices Liability
Consultant (EPLiC) includes the following articles.
Reference Manuals
Canadian Coverage Caselaw adds cases
from four provinces (British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, and Quebec), covering
a wide range of issues. The
Canadian
Coverage Caselaw Bulletin provides brief descriptive information
and links to the case discussions.
Commercial Property Insurance includes
the first in a series of supplements that will focus on adding discussions of
relevant caselaw to the annotated ISO forms section. It provides a greatly expanded
discussion of the building
and personal property coverage form (CP
00 10) that includes nearly 200 new legal case citations and an abundance
of new commentary.
D&O MAPS has been expanded to include
the following policies and analyses:
IRMI Insurance Cancellation Guide has
been updated with the most recent information and Web sites concerning laws and regulations
that govern cancellation and nonrenewal of commercial and personal lines insurance
policies.
Professional Liability Insurance contains
a revision of the "Legal
Foundations of Professional Liability" article found in the Legal Aspects
section. The topics addressed include professional standards of care, defenses
to professional liability claims, and expanding areas of professional liability.
There is also a revision of the underwriting and loss
control discussions, found in the Practical Concerns section. An update
of the "Public
Officials Liability Insurance Coverage" section provides an overview of
the most important elements of the policies written to cover public officials.
State-by-State Survey with Caselaw Added to Insurance for Defective Construction
Insurance for Defective Construction (2nd ed.) This 480-page book carefully analyzes and comments on the cases that have interpreted
the commercial general liability (CGL) policy's treatment of construction defect
claims. A newly added "Appendix
I: CGL Coverage for Defective Work" provides a graphical national summary
map showing how the caselaw has developed and a state-by-state matrix of the
most frequently cited cases on insurance coverage for defective construction.
Author Pat Wielinski closely monitors this section of the law and will periodically
update this appendix in the electronic version of the book to keep it current.
