phishing
An e-mail message falsely claiming to be from a lawful business. The message
directs the recipient to a bogus website closely resembling a legitimate company's
website. Once there, the recipient is asked to provide personal information
such as Social Security, credit card, and bank account numbers. The information
is later used to commit identity theft.
