Colleague,
Another year has flown by, and I want to thank our many friends
for making it one of the best in IRMI's history. In 2005 we saw
continued growth in subscriptions to our publications and record
attendance of more than 1,500 at the 25th IRMI Construction Risk
Conference. It is humbling to have the most professional and successful
risk management and insurance practitioners choose to be a part
of the IRMI subscriber family. Your friendship and support mean
more to us than you will ever know, and we pledge to do all that
we can to help you maintain your competitive edge in this dynamic
business.
Speaking of competitive edges, are you up to speed on the new
approaches to insuring privacy, media, technology, and cyber risks?
(These coverages are needed by more businesses than most people
realize.) For a cram course on the gaps in traditional programs
and how to fill them with special policies, attend Tech-eRisk 2006.
Be sure to register before January 7 to get more than $100 off the
regular fee. Learn more about this great seminar (and register)
here.
Best wishes for good health, prosperity, and happiness in the
New Year.
Have a great day.

Nearly half the states have already approved our newest online
insurance CE course, "Ethics Considerations for Property & Casualty
Insurance Professionals." With a premise that ethics is good business,
this course avoids academic and philosophical discussions to focus
on some of the practical considerations for insurance agents, brokers,
and adjusters. It discusses the concepts of ethical behavior, conflicts
of interest, and some of the real world ethics failures that hit
the headlines in recent years. The ways people can gain the trust
and confidence of others—and succeed in business—by demonstrating
ethical behavior are examined. It looks at the objectives of ethics
codes, provides examples of ethics codes, and gives guidance on
how to draft an ethics code for your firm.
