Ms. Doyle recently pursued a long-held dream of teaching at the university
level and joined the faculty at Vanderbilt University. She is a lecturer in
Leadership, Policy & Organizations, a department which
U.S. News & World Report recently ranked
#1. An active consultant, speaker, and writer, she has in excess of 100 speeches,
articles, and book chapters to her credit. Her particular areas of expertise
are leadership, diversity, risk financing, and the healthcare industry.
Prior to joining Vanderbilt, she spent 15 years at Aon, where she was recruited
to start a companywide healthcare industry practice. Under her leadership, Aon
quintupled healthcare industry revenues by building a company-wide alliance
that leveraged expertise and knowledge across the firm. In 2004, she was promoted
to executive vice president of Aon Risk Services with responsibility for a dozen
industry practices. In 2006, Aon asked her to become its first-ever Chief Diversity
Officer, reporting directly to the CEO. Her core responsibility was to enhance
Aon's ability to attract, retain, and promote a more diverse workforce. In addition,
she retained her role as chair of Aon's Healthcare Practice.
In 2006, APIW named her the Insurance Woman
of the Year and Risk & Insurance
named her one of their inaugural "99 Power Brokers." She is currently on the
board of trustees for Martin Methodist College and has served on the boards
of Definity Healthcare, Sterling Insurance Company, the CPCU Board of Governors,
and the alumni board of the Owen School at Vanderbilt.
Prior to joining Aon, Corbette worked at Willis for 10 years in positions
that ranged from VP/Consultant of Research & Development to co-chair of the
National Healthcare Practice to CEO of the National Accounts Services Division.
She started her career at Utica National Insurance Company and held positions
including financial analyst for long-range planning, regional underwriting management,
and National Accounts management.
She graduated magna cum laude in economics
and math from the State University of New York in Oswego in 1978 and earned
an E.M.B.A. from Vanderbilt University in 1987, graduating first in her class.
She holds the CPCU and ARM designations.
