Mr. Villarreal is one of the presenters for Workshop M5, “Improving the
Effectiveness of Risk Management Programs,” on Monday. He has
been working in the construction industry for 11 years with
experience in Commercial, Heavy Highway, and Residential
sectors. He has spent time in the field working as a field
engineer, project engineer, superintendent, and project manager.
A sample of Mr. Villarreal’s list of projects include an air
traffic control tower, a 400,000 square-foot convention center, a
300,000 square-foot historic building renovation at The University of
Texas, and a 350,000 square-foot assisted living center. Quality
control was a key component in these projects due to the
complexity of construction and short building schedule. Mr.
Villarreal’s experience in the field is valuable when assisting
field staff in developing procedures that assure quality
standards are being maintained.
Mr. Villarreal is responsible for developing and implementing
the safety, quality, and productivity process for all CF Jordan
divisions and works closely with its project management team to
ensure CF Jordan projects are in compliance and achieving set
goals. As SQP manager, Mr. Villarreal conducts safety, quality,
and productivity audits, administers training, assists project
staff in constructability review and identifying potential water
intrusion issues, prepares project quality reports, investigates
incidents involving constructability, assists in assembling and
analyzing builders risk claims, and works with third-party
consultants to achieve higher standards of excellence and
construction. Mr. Villarreal uses his field experience to work
closely with Jordan personnel in creating a team environment.
His previous presentations include "Defend Your Profits QC
Training," Jordan Construction, and "Builders Risk Case
Study," TEXO AGC; both were in 2009. He has been a facilitator and presenter
at biannual Jordan Executive Management meetings. He is OSHA 30
HR certified and is Associate Constructor, The AIC Constructor
Certification Commission. He is a member of the Lean
Construction Institute and the AGC.
Mr. Villarreal received his degree in Construction Science
from Texas A&M University.
