Ron Rakich, CPCU, ARM

Mr. Rakich is one of the panelists for Workshop W4, “Contractual Risk Transfer: Trends and Challenges,” on Wednesday morning. Mr. Rakich is President of Ron Rakich & Associates, Inc., an independent risk management and insurance consulting firm that specializes in construction risk and insurance issues, particularly large public works projects and owner controlled insurance programs.

Mr. Rakich has been the technical resource for some of the largest public works projects in California. Before becoming a consultant, he was risk management services director for a large self-insurance pool and, before that, risk manager for a large public entity. Mr. Rakich serves as a litigation consultant and expert witness in cases involving construction risk issues.

Mr. Rakich also is a specialist in contractual risk transfer and is principal author of the most widely used manual for contractual risk transfer for public agencies in California. He has conducted more than 100 workshops on contractual risk transfer and written numerous articles on the subject. He teaches a course on certificates of insurance and additional insured endorsements for the Insurance Educational Association.

Mr. Rakich holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter and Associate in Risk Management designations. He is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Houston, Texas.
