Mr. Pahl is presenting Workshop W1, “Understanding and Evaluating Risk Financing Options,” on Wednesday morning. He joined Risk Resources as senior consultant in September 2005, having spent the previous 6 years in the insurance and risk management program at Indiana State University’s College of Business. While there, Mr. Pahl developed and taught undergraduate courses in insurance and risk management and was responsible for the operation of the Center for Insurance Leadership Development at the Gongaware Center.

Mr. Pahl’s industry background includes 15 years of brokerage experience with some of the industry’s largest organizations and 7 years of insurance company experience in both line and senior executive positions.

While in industry, Mr. Pahl worked exclusively with mid-size, large, and national accounts–type commercial clients specializing in complex, cash-flow property, and casualty insurance programs.

Mr. Pahl has written extensively on such programs and is an accomplished industry speaker, a frequent participant on industry panels and symposia, former editor of the Risk Management Quarterly, and former chairman of the Risk Management Section Committee of the CPCU Society.

Mr. Pahl is a graduate of DePaul University (bachelor of science) and Loyola University (master of business administration), both in Chicago, and holds both the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter and Associate in Risk Management designations. Mr. Pahl is a member of the Society of Risk Management Consultants.
