He brings a unique, well-rounded industry perspective and hands-on experience to his position as Executive Vice President of The Allied Group of Companies. Responsible for managing large surety bond programs for major national and international accounts, Mr. Marran is known for his ability to create real-world solutions to meet client needs. He also brings a true “insider’s perspective” to every program—as both a former bond underwriter and contractor, he understands the various facets of the surety marketplace and its challenges; and he introduces innovative surety solutions to Allied clients, such as Subguard, an alternative to traditional subcontractor bonding, and SuretyPLUS™ excess layer performance and payment bonds for projects in excess of $500 million.

Mr. Marran assumed his current role at Allied in 2003, after holding positions of increasing responsibility in surety operations at Travelers Insurance for 10 years. He worked at Allied in a similar capacity from 1997 to 1999 and also owned a commercial millwork business, All Craft Fabricators.

Active in many industry associations, Mr. Marran is a member of the National Association of Surety Bond Producers, the General Contractor Association, the Construction Industry Council, Subcontractors Trade Association, New York Building Congress, Contractors Financial Management Association, and the Associated General Contractors. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Boston College.
