Mr. Kreuzer is one of the presenters for Workshop W3, “Preventing and
Defending Construction Defect Claims,” on Wednesday morning. He came to
Travelers in 2000 from the construction industry, where he worked for a
large construction manager overseeing various risk management programs,
including claims management and safety operations. During his career in the
construction industry, Mr. Kreuzer has overseen risk management programs on
various construction projects, including high-rise ground-up construction,
high-rise renovation projects, water and wastewater treatment facilities,
and airports. Among these are the Reagan National Airport ($250 million),
Austin-Bergstrom International Airport ($150 million), Boston University
School of Management ($72 million), Norwalk Wastewater Treatment Facility
($30 million), Greenwich Hospital ($80 million), and the Quantico Marine
Manpower Center ($35 million).
During his tenure at Travelers, Mr. Kreuzer has managed and mentored a
team of construction risk control specialists in performing risk
assessments, safety management audits, and various safety and health
training with significant emphasis placed on contractual risk transfer
techniques. Mr. Kreuzer also was a key contributor in establishing
construction claim investigation protocols for multiple lines of business.
Currently, Mr. Kreuzer is leading a team of construction forensic
consultants who work closely with claim professionals with an emphasis on
construction defect and large property damage claims. Mr. Kreuzer’s team has
participated in more than 2,000 different construction defect claims where
project owners have levied allegations of defective workmanship.
