Ms. Kagerer is copresenting Workshop M5, "Reducing Risks Via Quality Control and Leadership," on Monday. Ms. Kagerer directs the risk/safety management functions, including safety management systems, quality, wellness initiatives, insurance, and litigation, at Jordan Construction. Her experience in safety and risk management for both general industry and construction has provided her a unique perspective on how to structure and implement creative solutions to manage risk. Her specialty is management system implementation that directly affects corporate culture, insurance procurement, and overall corporate performance. She has received numerous professional awards and professional designations and is a frequent speaker and writer on risk management and safety-related topics.

She holds a Masters of Education & Human Development, Conflict Resolution from Southern Methodist University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations from Regis University. She is a Board of Certified Safety Professionals C.S.P. (Certified Safety Professional), a licensed Texas claims representative and commercial agent, holds the CRIS (Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist) certification from International Risk Management Institute, Inc., and the Associate in Risk Management (ARM) and AIC (Associate in Claims Management) designations from the American Insurance Institute and Commercial Property & Casualty Underwriters.

Ms. Kagerer was named by Business Insurance Magazine to its Top 25 Women to Watch list in December 2008; was a scholarship recipient from DFW CFMA, ASSE, RIMS in 2007 and a Spencer Scholar—RIMS (Risk and Insurance Management Society) in 2007. She was also named DFW AGC Safety Director of the Year in 2007, ASSE (American Society of Safety Engineers) National Risk Management Practice Specialty Safety Professional of the Year in 2006, and ASSE Region III Safety Professional of the Year for 2004-2005.

Ms. Kagerer has served on the AGC National Safety Committee; was Council for Litigation Management Texas chairperson; served the DFW AGC as chairperson of its Safety Leadership Group in 2006 and 2007; was assistant regional vice president of the Council of Practices & Standards, ASSE Region III; and was president of the American Society of Safety Engineers, Paso Del Norte 2003-2004.

She is author of "Defend Your Profits: Tools for Quality Construction and Bottom Line Improvement" and numerous articles on safety, risk management, conflict resolution, and communication.
