Mr. Jahrling is one of the presenters for Workshop W5, “Practical
Insights for Federal Contractors,” on Wednesday morning. A 26-year veteran
of Turner, Mr. Jahrling has worked in a number of geographic locations on a
broad range of project types, contractual delivery methods, and team
arrangements. In January 2011, Turner reorganized its operations in the DC
marketplace and promoted Mr. Jahrling to national responsibility for all
federal construction within Turner. In this role, Mr. Jahrling is directing
the consolidation of Turner’s pursuit, capture and project performance in
all U.S. locations.
Mr. Jahrling started his career in Turner’s New York office, working his
way through field assignments, estimating, preconstruction, and health care
leadership positions. In 1997, Mr. Jahrling was selected to manage Turner’s
Detroit office, where he completed the new headquarters for General Motors;
Comerica Park, the home of the Detroit Tigers; and Lambeau Field, the home
of the Packers.
After the attacks of September 11, 2001, he was selected for his first
federal assignment to lead Turner’s efforts in working with Boeing to secure
all 447 of our nation’s commercial airports by installing 100 percent
checked baggage screening. Following this assignment, Mr. Jahrling was
transferred to the Washington, DC, office to lead the operations, which
included a robust federal construction practice working for the U.S. Army
Corp of Engineers, General Services Administration, and Naval Facilities
Engineering Command.
Mr. Jahrling received a bachelor of science degree in geology from
Syracuse University and a master of science in geology from the University
of New Hampshire.
