Mr. Grieve is copresenting Workshop M5, "Reducing Risks Via Quality
Control and Leadership," on Monday. He is a founding partner in BRANTA
Worldwide, co-author of SOAR: A Gate-to-Gate
Journey of Leadership Essentials, and author of the best-selling
Defend Your Profits: Safety Tools for Bottom
Line Improvement. He has nearly 20 years of industry and consulting
experience helping organizations, teams, and individuals create a culture of
success.
Since 2000, Mr. Grieve has been consulting with clients ranging from
high-tech to waste management, construction to food packaging, heavy
equipment manufacturing to industrial services. As a result, he has
developed the delivery style and content to be effective anywhere in the
organizational structure. Mr. Grieve has worked with front-line supervisors
all the way to senior executive throughout North America as well as with
groups in Japan, Taiwan, and Korea.
His more than 10 years in the hazardous waste and industrial services
sector was in management positions as well as senior support positions.
Starting his career as a Project Manager, Mr. Grieve oversaw hazardous waste
cleanup operations at laboratories and manufacturing facilities. For several
organizations, he provided in-house regulatory expertise and training on
environmental, health, safety, and transportation issues. Prior to starting
BRANTA in 2000, Mr. Grieve was the Western Regional Director of Safety for
Philip Services Corp., a multinational industrial services and hazardous
waste company. With no direct reports, Mr. Grieve was responsible for the
safety, health, and well-being of over 1,200 employees in nine states and
two provinces. By teaching leadership and communication skills to his
front-line supervisors, Mr. Grieve's efforts led the Western Region to a 36
percent reduction in total incidents and a whopping 93 percent reduction in
annual safety-related liability costs.
Mr. Grieve holds a Master's Degree in Environmental Policy and Management
from the University of Denver and a Bachelor of Science Degree from Cal Poly
San Luis Obispo. He is a Professional Member of the National Speakers
Association and a formerly Certified Instructor for the Dale Carnegie
Organization.
