Mr. Dolnick, one of the presenters for Monday’s Workshop M6, “Interactive
Risk Management Forum (for Contractors and Project Owners Only),” serves as
risk manager for The Brady Companies, a multifaceted construction and
development firm headquartered in La Mesa, California. He has been involved
in the risk management field for more than 24 years, prior to which he
served 10 years in a variety of underwriting, loss control, and marketing
capacities with several insurance carriers.
Mr. Dolnick is active in a variety of professional and industry groups,
including the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC), where he is a
member of the Risk Management Committee. He was involved with the AGC’s Gap
Task Force, which worked toward developing risk management tools for small
and mid-sized contractors and for the insurance brokers and agents who serve
them. He worked on the AGC’s publications about mold in construction,
authoring one of three articles in a series on that topic.
Mr. Dolnick is a deputy member of the Risk and Insurance Management
Society (RIMS) and was honored as that organization’s “Heart of RIMS” in
1998. He served as a member and subsequently chair of the Society’s
Nominating Committee and was a member of RIMS Member and Chapter Services
Committee, where he participated in authoring a guide to insurance
certificates. He served as president of the San Diego Chapter of RIMS for 2
years and was a mentor to various RIMS chapters across the country. He was
selected as the San Diego chapter’s “Risk Manager of the Year” and as the
“Heart of the Chapter.”
He is a professional member of the American Society of Safety Engineers
(ASSE) and served as president of the San Diego chapter of ASSE, as well as
on that organization’s Region I Regional Operating Committee. Mr. Dolnick is
a frequent speaker at national, regional, and local seminars, including the
IRMI Construction Risk Conference and the RIMS Annual Conference and
Exhibition.
